Description
Three Pieces, by Nadia Boulanger (1887-1979) arr. Hersey
Arranged for low brass duo. The first part is suitable for trombone, euphonium (bass and treble clef parts are included) or Eb/F tuba. The second part is suitable for tuba or bass trombone. The first and second movements could be performed by high school level players, the third movement is a bit more advanced, in the original key of c# minor. All three could be performed well by collegiate level performers. Each of the three movements can stand alone, not needing to be performed as a set, giving added flexibility for programming.
Performance time is 8 minutes total (1st mvt: 3 min, 2nd mvt: 2 min, 3rd mvt: 3 min.).

Difficulty Level: IV (flexible tempo, keys of b-flat, a, and c-sharp minor, some advanced register in the first part, sixteenth note passages, suitable for undergraduate students and beyond. Movements 1 and 2 are of more modest difficulty and suitable for high school levels).
